Front-Load the Day — Meal Timing

Eating your largest meal at midday and finishing dinner early improves digestion, sleep and morning skin.

How it works

Digestive capacity and insulin sensitivity peak midday and decline toward night; late meals fragment sleep and, via overnight glucose elevation, degrade next-morning skin hydration. Ayurveda encoded this as Pitta-hour eating a few millennia early.

The practice

Largest meal between 11am–2pm; dinner light and ≥3 hours before bed; a 12-hour overnight fast most days.

The tradition

Chrononutrition; Ayurvedic Agni cycles

Cautions

  • ⚠ Rigid fasting isn't for everyone — pregnancy, underweight, and some conditions need different patterns.
